Afro-Arab World Junior Wheelchair Championships. April 29th to May 1st 2005 Nairobi Kenya

The Islamic Republic of Iran under 22 team defeated South Africa 72-53 to lift the Afro-Arab Junior wheelchair championship title. The games played on Sunday at the Moi International Sports Center- Kasarani in Nairobi Kenya , saw both teams were tied at 15-15 after the first quarter, before Iran went on a rampage, outscoring South Africa 20-10 in the second quarter for a 35-25 half time lead. On resumption into the second half, the situation wasn't any different as Iran dominated the game from all fronts, led by man of the match, Seifi Karamali, again outscoring South Africa 23-12. South Africa bounced back to take the fourth quarter 16-14, but the damage had already been done. Seifi Karamali of Iran was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the games, which were the first to be held in Kenya .
The games were presided over by the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation IWBF President, Madame Maureen Orchard. Iran will now join other qualifiers in the World games scheduled for July in Birmingham .
