A KAWAIDA DAY AT NYAYO GYM PART1 By ballerCHIC

Wow so another season is here and it’s so great and exciting and competitive, and don’t I just enjoy watching the games coz at least this time round they are all interesting. My love for basketball has seen me through very interesting moments, escapades in my life and I must say that basketball is not just a game it’s a way of life and a rather good on for that matter with al the highs and lows depending on how it’s taking you at the moment e.g. if you are a kcb fan like I am or u play for the lionz aren’t you enjoying bball for now…then again if you are a coop fan aren’t you wishin you could sign Lebron/Kobe in your team right about now and so on and so forth….. And am sure each and every baller out there has a story (ies) to tell……truth be told I enjoy watching and playing basketball and more to that I just enjoy being with/around ballerz. I have learnt a lot from the different ones I have gotten a chance to spend time with, the one I have balled with clubbed with hang out with,gone to school with..etc etc. The dayz that I have gotten to spend at nyayo (which is mostly the place I go to catch the latest bball actiona around) with the said ballerz and I noticed a few interesting thingz……that people at the gym are all different in personality and also in their purpose of being there. I thot it was to watch or play bbal only but I realized through observation and interaction that there other reazonz that made me come up with the different kind of baler/bbal fanz you will find there (NOTE:I didn’t name any names for all the right reasons )

#1-THE CHAMA MAMAZ.
This particular group will be found particularly at the gym trying to catch up on the latest gossip (read ‘udaku’) they know everything from who is going out with whom, who slept where last nyt,which chic has domez with which and why ,what is happening in what team. Why nani is not seated with nani……why is nani playing that way. Who is clandein with whom…to who is stealing your man or which guy is slicing which? Gosh they even know who I am. Or so they think??? You want the latest 411 this is where u should seat. Funny thing with the chama mamaz they think they are the best from clothing, lifestyle but to my observation I have noticed a few hitches here and there but who am I to point out I cud be just another chama mama. Good thing is there are a few chama mamaz not just one………they are quick to judge and yes slow to look in the mirror and see the log in there own eyes…but interesting enough if you want to find out about one chama mama just visit another group of chama mamaz. Chama mamaz mostly play or sometimez are just fanz. Heck this mamaz know about you than you know about yourself. And damn haven’t they filled my inbox with crap.

#2-SHOWTIME BALLERZ/LADIEZ MAN
Yeah like the name suggests they are here for show…….it doest matter if the team is losing. No way they have gat to shine…shauri yenu if you are ten points down with five minutes into the last quarter be sure that if you gat this particular kind of guy in the team he has gat to pull a few stunt here and there scorez /team image regardless he is just looking to get the ladies screaming coz trust me the jamaz wil boo especially if you are loosing he is just looking to score points with a lady or sometimez ladies here and there. While am not much against such I gat to say ‘there is always time for showtime and place for that matter.

#3 REAL BALLERZ
These are the ballerz who are there for nothing but the love of basketball; they are there for one reason only to watch/to play basketball. They represent to the best of their abilities….. Woe unto you if you interrupt them while they are watching the game. Every game they play or watch matters. If they are playing you will notice the seriousness in there game or if they are watching they hate interruption….they wil not miss the action for anything. Just by looking at them you will know they are here just for the game. They are rarely in nyayo except when they have a game or for one or two gamez and these are the games that are there before or after their gamez. They will be seated together with peanuts on one hand cheering the teamz on or there fav players …and unlike the chama mamaz there conversations range from the latest in football some funny jokes here and there and yeah who is going to win the current game to who should be given a sub and so on and so forth…..

#4 WANNA BE DUDE (z)
Everything about this baler is of that character of a ‘wanna be’ from the walk to the talk to the dressing all the way to his crew………he wants you to know he is ballin from his baggy jeans to his fake American ascent and his bling, but you know what he aint ballin at all its al just image…you could compare him to the showtime baler but he couldn’t pull a bball move/stunt if his life depended on it. He is just a wanna be.

#5THE ‘RUN WAY’ LADIEZ
It’s always good for a lady to look good and am not against anyone who goes out of there way to do so. But this particular kind has taken the phrase ‘lookin gud’ to a whole new level. You can tell they dressed up just for nyayo and they tend to over do it for that matter, they will be spotted with a lot of make up lookin like …let me not finish that..or better yet they will be spotting some funny lookin weave …some timez the weaves have a fringe hapo mbele that you are left thinkin’ woman is it that you dint finish paying the bill or your salonist just doesn’t like you I think the tyra top model show should come with a disclaimer ‘please do not try any this at home’ and the forced Mohawks WTH stop killing a very trendy hairstyle pleeaaaase- IF YOU DON’T JUA HOW TO PULL IT THEN DON’T TRY IT AT ALL. As if that is not enough the combination of clothing is enough to let you know that muthurwa is still in operation. They will forever be walking up and down just to get attention. Most belong to chama mamaz.

#6 THE NYAYO DWELLERZ
They are there very early in the morning yes and they leave after the very last game. They are always there every single day whether they have a game or not……..as much as we are all for ‘love of basketball’ but wtf get a life……forget that ur school is strategically placed but plizz u cud try watch football sometime…..mama chapo anakujua wewe ni customer, same for the njuguu guy……heck if gamez were played at night itabaki ulale nyayo???!!!

#7THE COUPLE(S) WE KNOW.
You know them you even love them and admire them for that matter. This are the ones we know are going out and we don’t need a chama mama to confirm that.

#8THE COUPLEZ WE ARE FORCED TO KNOW
These are the couples where (ESP the mamaz) will do lots to let you know they are together…yes she will make a point that they make an entrance together heck if you don’t notice yeah she will go ahead and even warm up with the jamaz team…..with her jamaz bag at her back…while I haven’t seen jamaz do the same for the chics I must say am impressed at what extent the women will go to show you that, that is her dude. As if that’s not enough whenever she is sitted with her galz she will be heard saying things like,` he has to jua wea am sitted then look at me before he makes a shot or a move ‘ (WTF……dnt be fooled n***a has been making those shots and moves since he could dribble the ball so stop trippin’)..She will make sure you know they are together whether you like it or not….when the game Is over yeah u gat it right she wil be just right there outside the changing room to hand him his bag…….or so if not when the dude is catching up with the boyz after the game yes she is right just behind tagging …….which leaves me wondering are you together for show or what..??!!!

#9‘BLAME IT ON THE ALCOHOL‘DUDE
This dude is never sober when you see him at nyayo…whether there is a game or not. Everything he does is up for the fact that he is high……he is the one heckling or the one who is just doing something in the game that is just out of the ordinary….some even function well under the influence…he cud pull a dunk anytime or better yet shoot a few pointerz in a row……worse still he would uzaa kabisa.it doesn’t matter to him much coz he cud just blame it on the alcohol.

#10 THE PLAYAZ
Yes they will play you and you will never know.…….they have got mamaz in every single team…and funny thing is that al this mamaz at a particular time believe that they are going out with the said dude…the dude has got game, the looks, but not the money. The only things he uses to get his clandes are his looks and mostly his game. Most show time ballerz are of course playaz. Be warned.

#11 THE KCB FANS
This particular group just amazes me…coz they love their team to death.it doesn’t matter what team kcb is playin they will be there and they will cheer there team till the buzzer goes off-win or loose hawajali they will dance topless or even run along the court chanting sloganz. They threaten to beat the refs up if they make a wrong call sometimes back they rushad bottles at the ref…wasn’t I jazzed. They have been termed as rowdy but don’t you think they entertain us too….they should be paid for that matter of course by kcb juu enyewe hao ndio wanaitwa fans to the bone.

#12 THE KPA LADIES
I choose to separate them from the rest of the ballerz coz they are at another level from the other ladies. They are here for one reason only to play ball…the only time you notice them is when they are on court doing there thing. They rarely belong to any group of ladies I have mentioned above…….sometimez you don’t even know their name you cud only refer to them by there game…and for sure av gat mad respect these mamaz. U could hate on them all you want or better yet look forward to them loosing the title but they will rep to the full…even when they lose a game u know they gave there all….heck even the chama mamaz av gat nothing on them.

#13 FACE BALLERZ
These are the ones who are always on face book with phones at hand while watching the game ….makes you wonder y the hell are you at Nyayo. ngebaki home u just face book…but thank God for them we always know what’s going on at nyayo.

But all in all whether Ur there to have a good time, watch ball, catch-up with pals. Etc etc….there is only one thing that unites us all and that’s the game we all love…BASKETBALL.
