Kenya’s national basketball team player, Josephine Achieng Owino, will become the first Kenyan to play in the world’s top women’s basketball league; the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) league, the world's most prestigious women's basketball league. The six-foot-four Mombasa High School alumnus and former Kenya Commercial Bank Lioness centre was drafted by Washington Mystics at the end of the National Athletics Intercollegiate Association (NAIA) league in March 2009. >> Read More

FIBA | 2010 World Championships Committee Tours Turkey

The 2010 FIBA World Championship for Men Steering Committee met on April 27th in Turkey and received progress report on the advancement of the operations of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC). The experts evaluated the progress, signaled significant improvements in Ankara Arena and Istanbul-Olympic Dome and confirmed that the two will be completed on time for the test events to be held in February-March 2010.
