Trevecca
University in Tennessee USA is home to the Trojans men’s
basketball team....and to Kenyan explosive college basketballers...The
Quartet of Collins Oyando...Brian Oduor...Dennis Miruka and Oliver
Ong'ara.
Trevecca
senior forward Brian Oduor was named to the Honorable Mention
list of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics
2008-09 Division I Men's Basketball All-America Teams. Oduor led
the TranSouth in scoring and was ranked No. 7 in the NAIA in scoring.
Oduor is just the third player in Trevecca history to record more
than 1500 points and grab more than 700 rebounds in their career.
Oduor got a Honorable Mention All-American for the 2008-2009
Season, which ended in March, 2009. The selections are made by
the NAIA Men's Basketball Coaches' Association All-America Committee
and comprises a First, Second, Third and Honorable Mention Team.
Oduor
is following in the footsteps of another Kenyan, Collins Oyando,
his former teammate at Maseno High School in Kisumu, Kenya, and
mentor at Trevecca University Team- Trojans, whom they have partnered
to cause maximum damage to their opponents. Oyando, who is an
All-TranSouth First Team, NAIA All-American-Honorable Mention,
TranSouth Player of the Week (01/01/07); set a season record for
FG% at 60.49%, surpassed 1,000 career scoring mark, and is now
ninth on career rebound list, and is ranked No. 10 in NAIA for
defensive rebounds per game.

on the Trevecca Team roaster are fellow Kenyans..Dennis Miruka
and Oliver On'gara, both formerly of United States International
University - Tigers in Nairobi, Kenya, who are shaping up for
a tasking season ahead. Miruka has seen vast growth in his ability
around the glass while On'gara has improved his skills on both
the offensive and defensive ends of the floor.
