The JaMalaria camp was truly a blessing to both the kids and
the basketballers, who got a chance to share basketball skills
as well as knowledge on Malaria, how to prevent, control, and
treat it. I really appreciate and thank the international players
for participating in this camp. |

KeNAAM are committed to mobilizing the
power of the youth and sport to accelerate the campaign against
Malaria. We therefore look to partner with the youth and sports
men in Kenya to create “voices” for Malaria and
in you we look to establishing Malaria advocates. There are
real life hero’s amongst us who can become role models
to others. |

It was great being here, especially for the kids, as we teach
them basketball as well as issues relating to Malaria. They
are the future and we need to get them involved not only at
the community level, but also nationally in issues relating
to the game and the society.

For a long tyme we've been focusing on the older generation...and
we forget there's talent that needs to be nurtured, JaMalaria
presented that opportunity to coach and share with the kids,
and was worth it as we came together for basketball and against
Malaria . |

I came to support ALSA in their effort to fight Malaria through
sports and be part of the ALSA initiative. It is high time people
as well as authorities in the health sector realized the effectiveness
of sports in educating the community on various issues |

It was good to give back to the society what it gave to me,
by sharing what i have learnt over the years-and helping in
conveying of the message against Malaria hoping to improve

I came to see and appreciate young talent, help nurture it,
and help prevent the spread of Malaria by teaching the children
how it can be prevented. The kids are the most vulnarable and
most affected and by teaching them we can see future generations
live to play BASKETBALL |

Eric
Maosa | UoN Terror
It was a great opportunity to help in team building. In addition,
Malaria destroys lots of lives due to ignorance, and the fact
that i can help stop Malaria by informing the kids on how
to stop it, gives me great joy and pride

The event was an inspiration for me to help the kids follow
their basketball dreams, and do so while they are healthy and
free from Malaria. It was real fun playing with the kids as
well as the professional players, and i too have learnt a lot
from this camp |

Owino | ALSA VOLUNTEERS PROGRAM, Japan
My take on JaMalaria Programme is that we should keep doing
the good work because it may look like a drop in the ocean
but the impact it has on the society is something so great.
We will never be able to know because we don't experience
it, but the people who do will forever be greatful so let's
keep on doing such things to create awareness because information
is power. But lets enjoy basketball as we engage in such activities,
its not for us, our time is gone lets do it for the kids and
the ones unable to help themselves.
